Scenic Idaho
R ivers, mountains, and farmlands dominate the state's landscape. The panhandle is emerald green hillsides, timbered mountains and sprinkled with lakes of all sizes. Central Idaho is covered with jagged peaks. The Snake River Plain, with its wide open vistas, irrigated farm lands and vibrant cities form the character of Southern Idaho. Idaho is 83,574 square miles of outdoor recreation heaven, yet we have a population of less than 1.4 million.

Idaho's unique environment provides nearly perfect growing conditions for potatoes, which it is famous for. Some of Idaho's other emblems include: the mountain bluebird, the cutthroat trout, the Syringa flower, huckleberries, the Idaho star garnet, the appaloosa, the monarch butterfly, and the western white pine.

Bogus Basin

Also known as "The City of Trees," Idaho's capital city is home to over 190,000 people making it the third largest city in the Pacific Northwest. Over the past few years, Boise has become a hot spot for business in the United States, receiving top rankings in publications such as Forbes Magazine. Boise has great city appeal combined with a huge variety of outdoor recreational activities available. Boise is only a 30-minute drive from its local ski resort, Bogus Basin, which offers both Nordic and Alpine skiing, snowboarding and a tubing hill during the winter season and activities such as hiking, camping, horseback riding and mountain biking during the spring and summer months.

State House

Idaho offers outstanding recreational opportunities of all kinds including, whitewater rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, golfing, and hot springs.
